Little known fact about me ...I love backpacking! I didn't take my first trip until I was 40!!! I had done a lot of hiking and some car camping, but never an overnight trip while carrying all your gear on your back! During the summer of 2020 (covid) we were home, a lot, I was turning 40 and my 15 year old (at the time) son talked me into doing a backpacking trip across Catalina Island. So, I did a ton of research, talked to friends with experience, borrowed and rented some gear and jumped into an adventure! That trip I took 3 teenage boys with me, my son, my nephew, and a friend. It turned out to be one of my favorite activities and I have done that same Trans Catalina Trail two more times since then. If you ever want any info on this trek, I would love to share my experiences. Here are some photos of our trips :)
